Artist Goes Back to Nature

by NLS Staff | December 29, 2016

Polish-born nail tech Anika Rybicka is remarkably accomplished — especially considering that she’s just 19 years old. Rybicka is one of 14 nail techs working in a Warsaw nail salon (she got licensed during her senior year of high school) and she’s soon to begin medical school.

“My dream is to open my own little nail salon in the future and somehow combine my two careers: doctor and nail artist,” she says. A talented artist, Rybicka often draws inspiration from nature, especially animals and landscapes. “A landscape on nails looks different because every nail is different, but together they form a picture. I love this effect,” she says.

Mini Masterpiece Nail Art 2019: Urban Drama

by Katherine Fleming

Congratulations to Jodie Rahaley, who took the top spot in this year’s Mini Masterpiece nail art contest after entering the two previous years. Her detailed, contrasting rendition of “Urban Expressions” by Michael Lang impressed the judges. Other beautiful entries ranged from the ever-popular Vermeer to Dali and Basquiat.
