Essie polished nails for three shows over the weekend at New York Fashion Week. Nails ranged from subtle and simple to edgy in terms of art.

Rita Remark worked with Self-Portrait designer Han Chong to intertwine the collection’s bright yellows and rich neutrals with a matte almost-nude nail. Essie Au Natural with Matte About You top coat  are all that’s needed to replicate this look.

Remark chose Essie Limo-Scene to let the models’ individuality shine through at Band of Outsiders. Remark felt this sheer alabaster shade flattered every skin tone and added a youthful glow to the models’ hands. To mimic the look, paint two coats of Limo-Scene on nails followed by top coat.

Designer and Essie Global Color Director Rebecca Minkoff pulled off an on-demand runway show on the streets of Soho where customers could literally buy the looks off the catwalk. For such an unconventional runway presentation, nail lead Michelle Saunders opted for equally unconventional nails. Saunders put a spin on the French mani using two Essie fall shades, Go Go Geisha and Maki Me Happy. To get the look, apply Go Go Geisha to just the ring fingers and allow to dry. Dip brush into Maki Me Happy and angle horizontally to drag across the tip of the ring fingers (just shy of half way down the nail). Use Go Go Geisha in the same fashion, painting across the tips of the other nails to complete the look. Finish with top coat. If line work is not one of your strengths, Saunders recommends using tape instead.
