VietSALON managing editor Anh Tran, CND co-founder and style director Jan Arnold, and CND brand ambassador Kieu Chinh present Tan Nguyen with the trophy for his winning nail art mural.

Congratulations to Tan Nguyen, owner of Nails N2 Art at Elite Salons & Spas in Conroe, Texas, and winner of VietSALON Magazine’s first-ever Nail Artistry Competition. The competition, which was sponsored by CND, challenged nail techs to create a set of five nail tips that best celebrate “the creativity and beauty of color” using their favorite CND system. After narrowing down the entries, a panel of judges from VietSALON, NAILS, and CND selected five finalists to receive an all-expenses paid trip to Premiere Orlando, June 4-6.

The colorful designs of the top five finalists reflected various techniques, from hand-painting to 3-D sculpture. Ultimately, Nguyen was named the winner during CND’s June 5 Shining Stars Party & Concert, featuring actress Kieu Chinh and singer Don Ho. Tan’s unique and vibrant hand-sculpted design channeled Vietnamese dragons, which represent life, existence, and growth. In addition to the title, Tan received $1,000 in product and cash prizes from CND.
