In October, the Beauty Bus Foundation announced that it has reached a new milestone, delivering more than 25,000 Bags of Beauty, valued at more than $3 million dollars, to clients and caregivers nationwide. The Beauty Bus Foundation was established in July 2009 based on the belief that even in the face of life-threatening and chronic illness, men, women, children, and their caregivers deserve dignity, hope, and respite through grooming and beauty services as well as pampering products. The foundation serves those with amyotropic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease), cancer, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injuries, stroke, and other neuromuscular and motor neuron diseases.

Beauty Bus Foundation sends Bags of Beauty filled with donated pampering products, valued between $75 to $200, around the country to clients and their caregivers to remind them they are beautiful inside and out. In addition, after every in-home visit and “Pop-Up Salon,” it provides clients and caregivers an individual Bag of Beauty so the pampering can continue.

“We are grateful to the beauty industry and the more than 100 local and national professional lines that have donated products in the last five years, making this program possible,” says Beauty Bus Foundation CEO Ronda Wilkin.
