Consumers pay well to make their own dinner at cooking classes and paint their own art at wine-and-canvas parties, so it follows that a similar DIY group-bonding experience would excel in a social space like a nail salon. That’s what Zoe Nails at Ayrsley in Charlotte, N.C., is banking on with its new make-your-own Polish Bar. Launched in August, we love how the service combines customization and interactivity into a unique party package.
“We’ve been blessed to have prebooked several parties within the next few months. It’s what we hoped for and anticipated. Once the buzz continues to circulate we expect to host at least one party a week, like birthday, bridal, or girls’ night out,” says owner Wanda Belk.
Party attendees make their color dreams come true by scooping their choice of pigments and glitters into a base, then stirring and funneling into a polish bottle. The party fee includes a polish change so clients can show off their new hue to the world — effectively promoting their creation and Belk’s salon.
