The Contessa Awards primarily honor Canadian hairstylists, but each year one winner is named in the nail category, Nail Enhancement Artist of the Year. This year’s winner is Robyn Schwartz of Polished & Pampered Hair and Esthetics in Grand Forks, British Columbia. She submitted three before and after (shown) photos. “This is my third time entering,” Schwartz says. “The first year, I made the semi-finals; the second year, I made it to the top five; and this year I won!” Nail category judges included Kim Tanner and Associates’ Kim Tanner, Jolie Beauty Bar’s Jessica Marie-Ellison, and NAILS Magazine’s managing editor Sree Roy.
