DAY OF (DURING THE PARTY)
> Do requested services within the allotted time (generally, two hours per party; $100/hour after that.)
> Clean, so as to be ready for next clients after the party ends.
> After services are completed, take charge of any additional events, like cake-cutting or a kids’ party dance contest.
> Collect payment, which includes $75 party fee and 20% gratuity. (A maximum of one credit card is allowed per party.)
7 DAYS OUT
> Reserve bartender (optional). Reserve guitarist (optional).
> Last date for party cancellation, to receive a refund of deposit (if the party booked the entire salon).
4 DAYS OUT
> Collect the 25% deposit from the hostess (generally charged to a credit card).
3 DAYS OUT
> Place the catering order with a neighboring business (optional).
> Last date for party cancellation, to receive a refund of deposit (if the party did not book the entire salon).
1 DAY OUT
> Contact hostess to handle any last-minute questions or concerns.
DAY OF (MORNING)
> Hostess drops off party decorations (optional).
DAY OF (30 MINUTES BEFORE)
> Set up salon decorations, optional client-provided decorations, and catering display, if ordered. (Salon decorations can include rose petals, lighting candles, and/or writing a personalized greeting on the message board.)
DAY OF (AS GUESTS ARRIVE)
> Start playing party-themed movies.
> Turn up the music and/or hook up the requested iPod.
> Help guests pick out polish colors. (If it’s a surprise party, guests pick out polishes before the guest of honor arrives.)
DAY OF (AS GUESTS LEAVE)
> Turn down the music.
> Turn off themed movies.
> Welcome non-party guests to the salon.
