I know that talking about an “imaginary friend” will wind you up on the psychiatrist’s couch, but this character is someone you really need to get to know.

I give you Fifi.

Fifi is a character we conjured up to introduce a new reader customer service program. Her name is an acronym for “Find It Fast Information.” (Cute, right?) We’ve given every ad or editorial mention of a product or company in this issue a “Fifi number.” Each number is unique and will allow you to be in touch directly with product manufacturers. Read on to understand how it works.

You’re familiar with our reader service card (on page 146 in this issue). When you’re interested in something in the magazine, you circle the corresponding number on the card and send it in. While this system has worked well for our readers for many,  many years, it needed an update.

You can still use the card (just fill in the Fifi number of all the products you are interested on the card), but you can also go online for quicker information or you can call any company directly using a single toll-free number.

Online, you can go to the online reader service card at www.nailsmage.com/fifi and check off the companies from whom you want more information. Or you can go directly to the companies’ websites by typing in the same URL and then using the Fifi# as the final extension (for example, if the Fifi# is 12345 you enter www.nailsmag.com/fifi/12345). You can also dial (800) 831-9309 and punch in 12345 at the prompt. You’ll be taken directly to the company you’re looking for.

The benefit of this new program to you is you can get the information you’re looking for quickly, our advertisers can tell it’s a NAILS reader they’re receiving an inquiry from, and it provides us more detailed information on the products and companies you’re interested in, which helps us provide better, more relevant content to you. With Fifi, everyone gets what they want (and what they need).

So, get to know Fifi, look for her in the magazine and use her. She looks delicate, but she’s really a work-horse.
