How do I know if I am pricing my acrylic 3-D nail art correctly? Is there a place where I can compare pricing?

Answer

Prices vary depending on what area you live in. On average, you can charge about $5 for a simple five-petal flower with a leaf that is done in white acrylic. If you paint it, charge a little more.

As the design gets more intricate, the price can go up. Always add a few dollars more for painting. The average for more detailed designs can run up to $10 or more per nail. You know your area, prices, and customers, but don’t out-price yourself.

Another way to price nail art is by the time it requires. Figure out the average hourly rate for your other nail services. Then figure out how long it takes to do a particular design and charge accordingly. If you charge $60 for a full set and it takes you 90 minutes, then your hourly rate is $40. If a particular 3-D design takes 15 minutes, then an appropriate price would be $10. — Ed.

How Do I Learn Nail Art If No One Is Available to Teach Me?

I am an apprentice in a natural nail salon. Sometimes I get requests for nail art. I would love to learn how to do different nail designs, but I am a beginner. I live in Virginia and there are never nail seminars or lectures or even hands-on classes here. Do you have any suggestions on learning nail art designs when there is no one in my area to teach it? Watching videos is good but sometimes you just need hands-on.
