Greta Gerwig’s look was created by celebrity manicurist, Mazz Hanna, who used Essie Mani Thanks sealed with a layer of Essie’s Gel-Setter.  “We chose the gold shade as a fun neutral to complement her classic, simple satin ball gown and to bring out the highlights of her hair,” says Hanna. Gerwig was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay.

E! News host Lilliana Vazquez gave the glass manicure a French twist. LA-based celebrity manicurist Brittney Boyce (@nails_of_la), used ORLY's GELFX Builder in a Bottle to build the clear glass tips to match the glass effect of Vazquez' dress. To accent the tips, Boyce added a thin, barely-there gold line using ORLY's GELFX Luxe.

Kyees also did Rihanna’s nails for Beyonce and Jay-Z's Oscar party, putting a twist on the classic French manicure. “For her hands she wants a very clean natural nail, so we tipped her nails with Essie Marshmallow. Since she was wearing black, I suggested adding Blue-tiful Horizon for a light chrome purple sheen,” says Kyees.
