“It works like a Breathe Right Strip for the nail, and the results are amazing” says Heather Goodwin, owner of A Totally Unique Nail Boutique in Palm Harbor, Fla. Goodwin offers relief to clients suffering from mildly ingrown toenails and pincer nails with the application of a B/S Brace. “The brace is a hard plastic strip that is adhered with adhesive. The plastic’s memory lifts the sides painlessly up. It lasts months until it grows off and is then reapplied until the problem is solved.”

“The tension of the brace changes the shape of the abnormally curved nail back to its original, natural shape, eliminating pressure within the nail groove,” explains Katharin von Gavel, whose company KvG Group is the exclusive North American distributor of the B/S Brace. “The brace can effectively relieve symptoms in as little as one day and can correct the problem over several months.” Goodwin charges $30 for the 10-minute procedure, though von Gavel says clients will pay upwards of $50 to eliminate their discomfort. Product cost is roughly $5 per application.

The B/S Brace kit comes with step-by-step instructions for a fast, easy application process. The International Pedicure Association (www.pedicureassociation.org) will soon be offering a how-to webinar on the B/S Brace as part of its ongoing webinar series.
