There are countless sources for nail art ideas. To find out where top nail artists get their inspiration, NAILS asked its talented Nail Art How-To guest columnists where they get design ideas.

Luann Rounds: I get my ideas from signs on the street to lace patterns on doilies – designs can be found anywhere. I also get ideas from logos on business cards. If I’m fresh out of ideas I’ll flip through NAILS Magazine and look that the ads for nail decals.

Traci Suggs: I get my ideas from airbrush magazines, art shows, the latest fashions, or even greeting cards. You can get ideas everywhere if you keep an open mind. At ray salon, we have a monthly nail art competition, so I also get ideas from my colleagues.

Elizabeth Zarzecki: Everywhere I look I see a design – patterns on a curtain, a floor tile, wallpaper, a painting in a restaurant, wrapping paper, or even a Kleenex box. I always carry a sketch pad and pencil with me. If you see a design you like, you can always modify it.
