The sweetest thing a client has done for me was to give me $100 of Kohl’s cash to help me out for my November 2014 wedding. She told me to buy my wedding party gals some nice jewelry. I used the credit and found some awesome gifts. Carole is such a wonderful, kind, and loving client...and now friend!

I have been a nail tech since I was 16 and have had lupus since I was 14. When you get sick with lupus, you usually require a hospital stay to get better. My clients all understand this and work with me around my schedule. I am now 27 and on dialysis. I once fell ill due to pneumonia and was in the hospital for a month. All my clients patiently waited for me to return to work. I was greeted with flowers, plants, and gifts when I returned.

The day after last Thanksgiving I needed my appendix out suddenly. My coworkers rallied together to cover my clients for three weeks and even came to my house to help me decorate for Christmas and set up my Christmas trees. The sweetest thing a client has done for me is to leave me an amazing gift for my five-year anniversary with my husband — a week of her timeshare. My husband and I are going to Disney World! It was so kind of her to do anything, let alone give us a whole week of her vacation time!

The beginning of this year was difficult for both my daughter (who is my partner) and me. My daughter’s mother-in-law passed away unexpectedly on the same day that I had hip replacement surgery in January. We both were absolutely inundated with love and help from our wonderful clients as well as the techs in our salon. From flowers and meals to Netflix subscriptions and books, everyone was so extremely kind. And more important, they were so understanding about having to reschedule appointments, which we so appreciated. Then, in October, my daughter and her husband had a very much anticipated baby girl, and once again, everyone was so incredibly kind and supportive. We are so grateful to work in such an amazingly supportive industry where our clients and coworkers can become such wonderful friends.
