A former student and sorority member at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., salon owner Katherine Pappas remembers well the hype and hubub surrounding formulas and the need to relax the day after. That’s why now, as the owner of Egea Wellness Spa, located just two blocks from Northwestern’s campus, she has developed several hand and foot treatments to cater to students’ needs during that busy time, including The Hot or Foot Therapy and The Sweet Sugar or White Sea Salt Hand ans Foot Therapy. Each service ends with polish and a complimentary Egea home therapy for soak for the following morning.

The extra take-home treat, Pappas explains, is the salon’s signature giveaway. “Clients can select from four aromatherapy scents that we blend into their salts to either invigorate, relax, nourish, or de-stress," she says. “We’ve found our clients like this quick pick-me up treatment that helps them get back into gear after a fun and long anticipated evening that can last all night long.”
