One of the nicest things about BeautyTech.com’s NailTech mailing list is that after a tough day at work, you can log on and vent your problems to hundreds of sympathetic colleagues. Even better is when you can recount a day of triumph — when everything went even better than you’d dared hope.

Recently Lauren Jean-Louis — a nail tech at I Natural in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. — shared her best day as a nail tech to date with list members. A tech of just nine months, Jean- Louis was thrilled to discover her talents recognized and in demand. We’d like to share her post with you, and ask you to tell us about your best professional day ever You can mail us at Best Day, NAILS Magazine, 21061 S. Western Ave., Torrance, CA 90501 or e-mail judy.lessin@bobit.com (write “Best Day” in the subject line).

Here’s what she wrote:

“Today was one of my greatest days as a nail tech (not that I’ve been one for long). I went to work and looked in the book to see how slow my day was going to be (yesterday when I left all I had in the book was one request). It was jam PACKED. I honestly have to say for the who eight hours I worked today I was booked. One of my regulars is getting married and she told all of her family members, bridesmaids, and such to make pedicure appointments with ME because supposedly I’m the best in town (Awww, that made my day). So now, I was booked all of today and am booked for six pedis tomorrow (from them) and three for Friday, plus one fill. *sniffies* I couldn’t be happier. Also, yesterday I had another one of my regulars ask me if I could come to her house so she and her three friends can have a pedi/mani party. She’s going to pay the regular price we charge at my job ($30-$35 for pedi and $15-$18 for mani) PLUS tips and time and travel.

*sigh* I so can’t wait. It’s taking me so much energy to get to where I am that now I’m just going to enjoy it. Soon, I’ll have to move to Ft. Lauderdale, but I have a few who are already making plans to drive down there for me. LOL People can be so sweet. Good things come to those who wait, I guess.”
