To keep feet in pedicure-worthy shape between appointments, Natasha Lowe, nail director at Emerge Spa and Salon (Mass.), gave Teen Vogue readers some advice on softening up soles through the cold months. Essentially, she reminds the mag’s blog followers that they “MUST exfoliate.” She adds, “Using a foot file or a sugar scrub twice a week will remove dead skin cells.” After they’ve scrubbed feet, she tells them that’s when they should use lotion or creams. And, being the good nail director that she is, she also reminds readers to maintain pedicure appointments every 4-6 weeks.

This is a great opportunity to pass the mag’s advice on to clients to make sure their appointments go smoothly (saving you from going over their scheduled time with extra minutes spent scrubbing)…and to give you a chance to suggest some take-home retail products.

Here are some companies that sell scrubs that you can recommend for clients to use at home.
