Getting nail polish to last, is every painted woman’s wish. And earlier this month, Martha Stewart invited her friend and celebrity nail tech Deborah Lippmann onto her show to give tips for making manicures last — and to dish on whose nails she’ll be doing come Oscar time (Kate Winslet).

During the six-minute segment, Lippmann reminded viewers how important base coat, top coat, and cuticle care are to maintaining a manicure. She also said a trick she uses on celebrity shoots is applying ridge-filler to smooth out nails. She recommends women who aren’t adept at doing their own nails use a ridge-filler, too.

Because long-lasting polish isn’t just wished for in December, techs and owners can link the video to their website with a reminder to buy similar products at their next appointment. And if you retail the Lippmann Collection in your salon, be sure to highlight the colors mentioned, too! (including Pump up the Jam, which all Martha audience members got)
