There’s a hot tip circulating among Young Nails educators to help techs with their glitter applications. The glitter containers are converted into shakers, so techs can cleanly sprinkle on just the right amount. Amanda Dodge, a Young Nails educator from the salon Nail Me in Spanish Fork, Utah, explains how it works.

“I wish I could take credit for the salt shaker invention, but I can’t. It came from our educators in Florida, and it works great and is really simple to do. You take one of our jars and remove the lid. Put the engraving bit into your electric file, and use the engraving bit on medium speed and gently push through the top of the lid, making a salt-shaker type lid. These lids really help you distribute the glitter better and keep you from wasting it.”
