“We believe that if you are not stressed, you must know someone who is,” says Julie Nguyen, owner of Blu Water Day Spa in Kensington, Md. That’s the premise behind the “De-Stress Dollars” she’s been e-mailing to clients. These certificates, valued at $20, can be applied only to a second service in addition to your scheduled appointment. “The certificates must be used within 30 days of receipt and are transferrable. “In a time when guest retention is difficult, we are not only retaining our guests but are enjoying an expanding client base,” says Nguyen. “The expiration date of 30 days is motivation for our guests who may be delaying their regularly scheduled appointment to stay on schedule.”
