Clients of Ole Henriksen Face/Body Spa in Los Angeles won’t muss their manicures flipping through the pages of tattered old magazines. Instead they can read the latest digital editions on the spa’s iPads. While the spa first opened its doors in 1975, it wasn’t until last September that it added nail services. The new nail area features a luxurious, custom-built wood seated area with stainless steel pedicure basins, each complete with an iPad station for entertainment. “People feel the need to stay connected to what is important to them,” says owner Ole Henriksen. “iPads provide a silent communication source in a spa environment where talking on a cell phone is prohibited. iPads are technologically advanced, provide many capabilities, and are portable. This creates a synergy between guests, technology, and spa. Our guests have responded with praise and excitement.”
