Tip of the Month: Protect Against Polish Smudges

Allison Marino and Michelle Danese of For Your Nails Only in Marlton, N.J., offer this tip to protect clients’ polish from smudging. Start by applying polish as usual, then apply a quick-dry top coat. Have your client sit for 2-3 minutes to let the polish set. next, apply a generous amount of cuticle oil over the nails. Let the nails continue to dry another five minutes and the client is ready to go. “My clients sweet by this method,” says Marino. “The oil seems to act as a protective barrier. It’s also great for conditioning your clients’ cuticles.” Do you know any tricks or shortcuts that can help NAILS readers save time and money, gain clients, or run their salons more efficiently?
