You may have noticed a new friendly face over at Jessica Cosmetics. It’s not Jessica Vartoughian, the company’s founder, though she’s certainly still working hard developing new products for the natural nail company. Rather, it’s the fictitious Lola, the face of GELeration who you’ve seen plastered on the company’s marketing materials for its new gel-polish line.

Who exactly is Lola? The company explains, “Lola is every woman who juggles the demands of everyday life, whether they are professional, personal or both, and leaves little to no time for herself.” (Sound familiar?) The company developed its GELeration product with “Lola” in mind. “With GELeration, women can now have three to four weeks of flawless nails without slowing down,” the company says. “Featuring all the stylish Jessica Custom Colours, it’s quick and easy for nail technicians to apply and remove — perfect for women like Lola who have hectic schedules and can’t find the time to keep up with weekly manicures.”

When creating the GELeration persona Lola, Jessica searched for a universal name that would capture the true beauty of everyday women, looking for a name that would emulate both beauty and strength and be feminine and strong at the same time. Since Lola portrays active everyday women, Jessica plans to constantly change the Lola model to represent all types of women. So you may want to stay on the lookout for the next Lola — both the fictitious one in the next marketing campaign and the real one who may be walking into your salon.
