Illinois nail technicians now have until December 31, 1995, to apply for a license under the state’s grandfather clause. Only the date to apply has been extended; all required work experience — two years of part-time or one year of full-time experience doing nails or 200 hours of education — must have been completed by January 1, 1994. For an application, call (217) 785-0800. Miss this chance, and you’ll have to attend school for 350 hours to obtain an Illinois nail technician license.
