The Texas Cosmetology Commission has adopted amendments to its sanitary rulings that eliminate the requirement for a tuberculocidal disinfectant except in the case of blood spills. For normal disinfecting purposes, salons, schools, and independent contractors will he required to use a hospital-grade, EPA-registered disinfectant solution. The amendments were effective January 1, 1995. For more information, contact the Texas Cosmetology Commission at (512) 454-4674.
