What is black, white, and re(a)d all over? While “a newspaper” is the traditional answer to this riddle, The House of Rush in London takes it a step further in its glamorous design that includes a custom wallcovering of newspaper clippings and reviews of this full-service salon. “Over time it will showcase the history of Rush,” says Stell Andrew, co-founder and international creative director. The salon recently won a British Hairdressing Business Award for its design, which was created in conjunction with designer Marc Péridis at Montage. Andrew adds, “Set in a sanctuary of urban indulgence, The House of Rush is a hair and beauty haven, home to the crème de la crème of beauty therapists. A passion for customer service is coupled with the acclaimed postmodern interior, infused with contemporary glamour and forward-thinking techniques.” There is a distinct manicure area in the salon, while pedicures are done in the multi-purpose beauty rooms. Andrew says the great design of the space helps increase sales because “The House of Rush was designed around the client experience.”
