Funded in part by nail art enthusiasts via Kickstarter.com, a film all about nail art —appropriately titled NAILgasm: The Nail Art Documentary — was recently released. The 35-minute documentary is the work of a Los Angeles-based filmmaker named Brass (www.whoisbrass.com), who wanted to explore how nail art has evolved from the streets to high fashion and has “exploded to everywhere in between in just the past few years.” Brass traveled the country and the world to videotape interviews with renowned artists (many of whom you’ll recognize if you’ve been an avid NAILS Magazine reader over the years) and experts (including NAILS’ managing editor Sree Roy). The film is a feast for nail enthusiasts’ eyes and shares insights on why women use nail art as a means of self-expression. Rent the movie for $1.99 as a digitally streaming rental on www.nailgasmdoc.com. A limited number of DVDs are available for $9.99 on www.nailgasm.bigcartel.com (and have been selling out each time they’ve been re-stocked), so if you’d like a hard copy, act fast and try re-checking the site periodically.

NAILS has 3 hard copy DVDs of NAILgasm to give away! Tune in to our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/nailsmag) on March 1 for your chance to win. Give away ended March 4.
