At Gibb’s Lounge in Cleveland, Ohio, salon owner Stephanie Saddler and nail tech Brittany Foster have started a successful Ladies’ Night nail tradition. The Minx, Matte & Moscato Ladies’ Night, which takes place the second and fourth Wednesday of every month, offers women a waterless matte or shiny manicure, a Minx nail coating on one finger of each hand, and a glass of wine for $20. “We just did it to get Minx out there for those who haven’t tried it,” says Saddler. “Now they can try it and see how it works before they actually invest in getting a whole set done.”
Saddler and Foster issue a raffle ticket to each attendee, who can use it to redeem her drink at the bar (Gibb’s has recently added Long Islands and martinis to the selection). The bar is paid back based on the number of tickets it collects.
Each set of Minx designs can be used for five clients, and according to Saddler, even giving the bar its cut, they’re still able to make a good profit. The business partners have printed out fliers and list the event on their respective salon websites. In addition, the event was announced via a local radio station, expanding business from 10 clients their first night to 40 clients by their third night.
