Volunteers, Clients Step Up for Haiti Relief

by NAILS Magazine | March 1, 2010 | Bookmark +

How do you make $4,300 in six hours? Have a worthy cause and a compassionate clientele.

That was the total amount raised at a recent fundraiser at Charles Morris Salon in New Lenox, Ill., to help Haiti in the wake of the devastating earthquake in January. “All the staff volunteered their time for this great cause. The nail department was rockin’,” says salon coordinator Tammy Pecho. “We’re pleased that 100% of the proceeds went to a charity that gives 100% to Haitian relief efforts.” The event was planned and executed in just two weeks. “Because of the efforts of our great staff of volunteers, donations from local businesses, and volunteer stylists from other nearby salons, this day was a huge success!” says Pecho.
