Competition Insider

Budapest

I just got back from a last minute event held in Budapest, Hungary, of all places.

I left on Thursday and returned this Monday. At the event, I was asked to participate in a “jury,” which is their term for judging a competition. I actually judged two competitions — one fantasy and one pink-and-white competition. The winner of the pink-and-white category qualified for the International Nail Championship in Dusseldorf that is being held at the end of the month. This was a really great experience to see what kind of nails competitors do in other countries.

In the fantasy competition I saw some amazing things. The competition was on-site and the competitors were given four hours to do the nails. It’s hard to believe they could do some of the things they did in that amount of time. I could tell what type of techniques they were using, but I never thought of using them in such a manner. I wish I could have taken pictures of them to share with you.

.

But it’s so good to be home and let me tell you, that flight is no joke. With my next trip back to Europe in just two weeks, I don’t think I’ll even be able to recover in time. lol!
