Be Eco-Friendly and Exchange Your Old Polish

by NAILS Magazine | May 10, 2010 | Bookmark +

I definitely appreciate the honesty, but it’s disturbing that 36% of respondents to NailsMag.com’s current web poll don’t dispose of salon hazardous waste items (which can include leftover nail polish) correctly, at least some of the time.

For a limited time, there’s no excuse not to dispose of your nail polish correctly — because polish manufacturer Zoya will do it for you. And the company will even give you almost-free brand new polish bottles in return.

Through June 30, you simply send in six or more bottles of old polish that’s new/used/empty/full (any brand other than Zoya, Qtica, or Nocti), and the manufacturer will send you the new Zoya colors of your choice in a bottle-for-bottle exchange. All you pay is $3.50 per bottle to cover shipping and processing. Zoya will properly dispose of your old polish according to EPA guidelines. (This offer is available in the continental U.S. only.)

So, what are you waiting for? Visit www.artofbeauty.com/exchange/default.html to exchange your polish.

And, the rest of the year, I recommend using Earth911.com to find the appropriate waste disposal facility in your area. You can also print out this handout for help in disposing of 10 common salon products.
