Tin Pham from Chandes Hair & Nail Salon in New Orleans started posting his nail art step-by-steps on YouTube a year ago. Since then, he’s come up with great ideas that we’ve featured in VietSALON Magazine.

“I get inspiration from things I see every day such as everyday objects, billboards, signs, posters, etc. I would go through magazines or online and draw things that I like,” Tin says.

 

 

Here is a fun video on his steps on creating nail art inspired by the Super Mario Bros. Nintendo game.

If you’re looking for nail art, here are some great resources for inspiration:

 

YouTube — www.youtube.com — Search for “nail art,” “nail art tutorial,” or “nail art step-by-step,” and you’re sure to find some great videos on creating something beautiful. Some users post photos of their nail art and steps, while others will record themselves as they create. It’s helpful to see what kinds of brushes artists use and how they apply polish to the nail/nail tip. YouTube also gives you suggested phrases while typing in searches.

 

NAILS’ Nail Art Channel — www.nailsmag.com — NAILS Magazine has a Nail Art Channel on the website dedicated entirely to nail art — from step-by-step demos to galleries featuring themed nail art. There’s also a question-answer section with some helpful tips from experienced educators.

 

Nail Art Gallery — nailartgallery.nailsmag.com — If just looking at nail art isn’t enough, you can post your own nail art photos on the Nail Art Gallery. NAILS Magazine combines the social networking idea of Facebook, the photo sharing capabilities of Flickr, and your favorite nails-related pastime (creating nail art) to bring you Nail Art Gallery. Nail techs and artists can sign up for free to upload photos of their nail art, view nail art by theme or by other nail techs, write and receive comments, and help develop an online community of artists to share and inspire creativity. Best of all, it’s free to join.

 

365 Days of Nail Art Blog — blogs.nailsmag.com/365nailart — 365 Days of Nail Art started on New Year’s Day and features new nail art from a different artist each day. The Daily Nail — www.thedailynailblog.com — Similar to 365 Days of Nail Art, The Daily Nail blog started its daily designs last October. While she’s not a nail tech, blogger Melissa Osburn, has challenged herself with creating a different nail design a day, every day, for a whole year! She also goes into detail about the things or events that inspired her nails that day, the polish she used, and how to create the nails. Her designs and ideas are inspiring.
