Trying Out a New Style for the Holidays

by NAILS Magazine | December 7, 2011 | Bookmark +

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to be invited to an event hosted by CND at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel (formerly the Regent Beverly Wilshire where they filmed "Pretty Woman"). Co-founder and style director Jan Arnold was on hand to go over the spring 2012 fashion trends and looks with various media outlets. And several CND ambassadors were there to pamper us with Shellac manis.

Perfect timing...my nails were in dire need of a little pampering and some holiday style. With a recommendation from Jan (who is always urging me to get a little bit crazier with my nails) San Diego-based tech Michele Huynh gave me this perfectly simple (with a hint of bling) style using Shellac in Cocoa aand a light dusting of champagne-colored glitter. I love it. Actually, I love the look so much, I'm going to have to find someone to do it again in two weeks before the holidays. It's the perfect look for Christmas and New Year's, don't you think?

In addition to seeing some really cool nail styles (look for more in spring issues of NAILS), we also got a sneak peak at the new polish and Shellac colors for the spring. As somone who likes grays, blacks, and browns more than pinks, reds, and purples, let's just say I'm really excited about the new spring Shellac colors...especially Cityscape (a creamy dove-gray) and Rubble (a mushroom taupe).

It was great to see Jan and Julia Labaton (CND's PR guru), as well meet some new CND ambassadors. And it was a nice treat for our art director Danielle Parisi and me to get out of the office for the day with a little manicure pampering.
