Any Mood Killers in Your Decor?

by Holly Schippers | December 21, 2011 | Bookmark +

Is your salon an extension of your personality? Did you go with a certain type of theme or a random color scheme?  Lately it seems like I have been visiting some very clever and cute salons. I love the decor, the atmosphere created, and the ambiance that the combination of the two creates. Unfortunately some salons can overlook things that are not part of the main impression walking in and kill the mood just a little.

Have you ever walked in to a salon and fallen in love, then used the restroom and felt like you should have gotten a key on a chain from the gas station attendant to have gone in there? Then there are those that continue the theme of the salon into the restroom and you almost crave services while answering nature’s call. Some of them that I have been in lately would be well served to place some menus in there to target that feeling! Inspiration for this blog struck at one salon I visited recently — Blush Salon in Des Moines, Iowa. They were kind enough to send me pictures to share so you could see what I mean about the ambiance flowing into the restroom from the rest of the salon.

What path did you take in your salon? Decor or truck-stop style?
