Keep Track of Your Clients!

by Holly Schippers | January 5, 2012 | Bookmark +

Do you keep client records? Do you keep them on everyone? With a new year beginning, what a great time to implement some great habits. I went into a salon recently to purchase a gift certificate for my grandmother for Christmas and this blog was born.

First off they had no idea if my grandmother was one of their clients or not. Next, I wanted to get her hair services for a year. Since they did not keep records of client basic info they definitely had no idea what services she normally had done. So instead of the gift I wanted to give her I ended up just doing a smaller cash value gift certificate in case it was the wrong salon as I was only 80% sure I was in the right place.

This left me disappointed in not being able to give the gift I would have liked. We are all busy. I know this, I’m busy too. But how difficult is it at the very least to have a record of who your clients are? Please look over your current system, or start it back up if you slacked off, and if you have not been record-keeping there’s no time like the present!
