Within the next eight months or so, there may be a new nail implement sterilizer on the market: 3-D Clean from Science & Light Technology Inc.. With prototypes at Premiere Orlando (plus in doctors’ offices), the unit has a quartz shelf that lets in UV light. That way, it’s not just one side of the implement that’s being sterilized, but rather the UV rays hit the implement from all angles. It’s great for tools that can’t handle the heat of an autoclave, according to the company. Plus, it will co me with a card that changes colors when the sterilization process is complete, ensuring a full cycle has completed.
