by NAILS Magazine | June 8, 2012 | Bookmark +

It’s that time of year again! The International Beauty Expo, an exhibition in the beauty and cosmetics industry, will be at the Long Beach Convention Center [http://www.longbeachcc.com/] on June 24 and 25. Tickets are $30 for each day of the expo and can be purchased online at Brown Paper Tickets.

The Long Beach International Beauty Expo has been at the Long Beach Convention Center for the past seven years and this year will be the expo’s ninth year.

Many of the companies at the expo, including Lechat Nail Products, China Glaze, EZ Flow, and NailTek will be providing education on the show floor.

The International Beauty Expo’s website states that the expo has been “voted the largest educational show in the West.” In that spirit, the two-day event will feature skin care classes, hair care classes, business management classes, and a professional advance nail technician course.

“The Long Beach International Beauty Expo is focused on offering more free educational classes than in previous years,” Juan Dior, CEO of The Long Beach International Beauty Expo, told NAILS Magazine.

Dior explains that there will be a variety of nail tech classes offered at the expo, including gel nail application, techniques on how to create hundreds of French designs using French trimmers, application tips, and artistic applications.

Do you want to challenge yourself and see how your skills match up against other nail techs? The Nailympics competition will also be at the expo this month. Among the different challenges in the competition, there will be sculptured acrylic, nail embellishment, and fantasy nail art. The competition will span the full two days of the expo with an award ceremony from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 25. Registration information can be found at http://nailympics.com/site/registration-2012.

This is a great opportunity to meet with the vendors that sell your products, learn new techniques, and purchase products on the show floor.

What have you gotten out of the expo in the past? What do you hope to learn this year?
