Back from the Nail Tech Event of the Smokies

My summer is coming to and end, and I'm so glad to have my kids back in school.

I tried to make it all about my kids this summer, but work always gets in the way. We all know summer is the busiest season for nail techs, and, between all the nail shows and events, I have to say that it's been the best summer for me. I just got back from Nail Tech Event of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, Tenn. It was so good to see many people I adore and admire, and I made few new friends.

Highlights include speaking with Kathy and Gary from Soft Landings -- they have amazing towelettes; if you haven't tried them, you must. I also loved meeting Amy Becker from Masterworks. She's so amazing with gel that it made me feel like a kid again in her class -- thanks Amy for a wonderful time.

I always tell my students: Practice makes perfect. That couldn't be any more true as I'm practicing a new technique from Amy. (If you haven't noticed, I'm always up to learn something new.)

Now moving to September, I have an exciting news...I will be in New York training as an educator for Essie! I love Essie and when I heard about a hugh-hush new product launching this fall, I had to be a part of it. I can't wait to be there. And in the middle of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week?! Ohh life couldn't get better than this.
