ISSELB 2014: CND Open Road

by NAILS Magazine | January 25, 2014 | Bookmark +

CND talked trends this morning at a press event. Their Open Road collection for Spring 2014 is comprised of both new Shellac and Vinylux colors. The story behind the collection: a woman who runs a PR agency in L.A., but on the weekends likes to let loose with her hair in the wind, driving in her convertible through the desert. The colors in the collection therefore contain clay-like earth tones, poppy-esque sunsets, and of course the deeper colors that reflect the evening sky.

CND Ambassador Shelena Robinson used Shellac in Sage Scarf to do up my nails. She used additives to add rock-like texture to my nails for art that looked like stones found out in the desert. Co-founder Jan Arnold described the collection as "softer and more functional." Robinson added that the collection can also help dictate the shape of the nail and the final outcome. As a result, she decided to soften up my square-shaped tips and added a matte finish.

CND's plan for education is to offer more trend-related classes through their distributors. If you're at ISSELB you can take a class from Robinson herself tomorrow at 2 or Monday at 10. Follow NAILS on Twitter and Instagram for more ISSELB coverage.

Stop by CND's booth to learn more about the Open Road collection.
