Nail Tech Runs for State Senate

by Judy Lessin | March 21, 2014 | Bookmark +

One of our own is running for State Senate in Georgia’s District 40. You may have read about nail tech Tamara Johnson in our February issue. She’s the force behind Politics Beauty, an umbrella organization that consists of state-level, grassroots advocacy organizations that initiate and address legislation that affects the beauty and barber industry.

Now she’s taking her passion and running for office. “Once we have a voice of reason on the inside, licensed beauty professionals will be heard loud and clear across the nation,” she says. “We just have to start somewhere. I can’t wait to serve my district, my state, and of course, my industry!” The primary is May 20.
