I Owe Ya One

Fear not, fearless reader! I have not forsaken you. I didn’t even forget to write my second blog post last week... [cough cough]... well, I didn’t forget until it was too late, that is. Then, all of a sudden it was Sunday and I was on my way home and the “real life” light bulb went back on and I was all like “OMG! THE BLOG!”

No. Really. True story.

It all started with Baby Bird’s announcement that she is moving back to Billings, Mont., at the end of July: I knew she was planning on moving, but it was a “someday, maybe before the end of the year...” sort of thing. Then BAM! Her opportunity came up and she gave me an official last day of work notice.

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks staring at the walls in the salon and making lists of all the things I want to change, do, get, before I hire a new tech.

Then I made some lists of what I will do differently with the hiring process this time.

Then I made some lists of what I’ll be looking for in a new tech.

Then I made a list of what order all my lists should go in.

Then the IRS sent me a letter that says I owe them more money.

Then I remembered I owe the IRS money.

Then I remembered I have payroll tax paperwork to file.

Then the home computer died.

Then I got an insanely low electric bill and had to call and tell them they read my meter wrong. Which has resulted in an adjusted bill that makes no sense at all. So put calling the electric company back on the list.

Then I left town to retake my motorcycle class. Which I had to do nearly 200 miles away, because I maybe, kinda burned my bridges with the school that offers ALL THE CLASSES IN A 200 MILE RADIUS when I ratted them out for not following the rules.

Which is why I was a little distracted when I took off for Gilroy, Calif., last Thursday afternoon and why it wasn’t until I was on my way home Sunday evening that I remembered I was supposed to write a second post before I left last Thursday.

The good news is that I will soon be a fully endorsed motorcycle rider, I’ll be hiring a new nail tech soon, and I get to buy all new stuff for the salon...which is sure to be a headache, a hassle, cost too much money, and I’ll just end up missing my fabulous desk.

Betcha can’t wait to hear about it all, huh?
