Pantone Announces Color of the Year 2015!

by Beth Livesay | December 8, 2014 | Bookmark +

Brace yourself for Marsala, Pantone’s newly named hue of 2015. A robust and earthy wine red, Pantone 18-1438 encourages creativity and innovation while enriching mind, body, and soul. “Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. Pair Marsala with amber, umber, golden yellows, turquoise, teal, and vibrant blues. Marsala works with a variety of skin tones, so feel free to recommend it to any client.
