NYFW F/W 2015: Cuccio for Jordan Louis and Moskov

The trend of simplistic nail art in neutral colors continues with Cuccio’s nail sponsorship of the Jordan Louis presentation. Lead manicurist Elaine Watson worked with designer Kimberly Sherer to come up with a nude nail and black triangle at the center. Watson and her team used Cuccio Colour in 2am in Hollywood for the triangle and Tel Aviv About It for the nude surrounding nail. To recreate the look, paint a triangle from the cuticle to just short of the free edge. For this particular presentation, Cuccio welcomed Puerto Rican educator Marilyn Garcia and celebrity manicurist Gina Eppolito to the team. During the two-hour fashion presentation, the team also provided manicures to guests.

Rachel Shim led the Cuccio team at the Moskov presentation Monday. The inspiration for the collection was Victorian, filled with eye-catching fabrics that told a story with ample detail. Because of the intense layering of color, Shim wanted to create a triple layered moon mani. First, she left negative space at the lunula, then blended a custom purple using Cuccio Colour and polished the remainder of the nail. For the tip, she used Playing in Playa del Carmen and sealed with a top coat.
