Pantone Unveils Two Colors of the Year

by Beth Livesay | December 3, 2015 | Bookmark +

2016 isn’t even here yet, and already it’s off to a monumental start. Pantone, the color authority, has named not one, but two colors to define the year ahead. The color institute named Rose Quartz and Serenity as the tones to embrace in 2016. These softer hues joined together create a sense of balance and tranquility. Here’s how we propose selling your clients on this creative combo:

Torie Bastian, The Polished Pinky, Crown Point, Ind.

Get them hooked on rose gold, a twist on the traditional metallic, with these nail products.

Karrie Bowers, Morgantown, W. Va.

This matte half-moon is easy to execute. It can remain monochromatic or you can swap out one of the colors for Serenity.

Lauren Wireman, Cape Coral, Fla.

Adding embellishments to one of these subtle shades would be just the right amount of sparkle.

Probably the best way to blend these two colors would be by doing an ombre.

Adding glitter to a gradient or over it will enhance the color combo.

A water marble would also do the trick.

For clients who like Rose Quartz but want something sunnier than Serenity, try this combo.
