Nails 101: A Student Blog

Week 22: Near the End and Still So Many Surprises

by Tiffany Williams | March 27, 2017 | Bookmark +

This week I had only one exam left and that was from the beginning of beauty school. I took it on Monday and scored 100% on it so I'm very happy. I have no exams and no hours to make up. I finished almost all my services, and now I only have three left. I also re-shaped and changed the color of another student's nails. On Tuesday, I completed more of my services and a student asked me to soak off her acrylic nails. I would have done a full set but there were only 30 minutes left until class was over. On Wednesday I trained in the salon, and now I can say my application of gel nails is so much better — I'm proud of myself.  People kept telling me that there is a mean instructor on the senior floor who never likes anything and  always criticizes, but when I show her my work she loves it, so that makes me feel awesome. Thursday I finished more services, and next week on Monday my teacher is doing a nail party. I can't wait to buy more nail supplies; it makes me so excited!

I graduate on the 30th but I'm hearing that since my school was closed for two days due to snow, that our graduation got pushed back until April 4th. It sucks because I have completed everything and passed all my tests to make sure I graduate on the 30th, but now I have to go two extra days. I'm ready to schedule my State Board exams and be finished with beauty school. I'm going to talk to them and see if it's really true we have to stay longer. I’ll keep you posted!
