It was such a great week for me! Not only did I have a variety of services to perform, I also enjoyed the clientele I had to work with. On Monday, I gave another unscheduled evening cosmetology student a full set. It’s funny because I remember when we first got on the floor when we heard we had a full set, we got so nervous. Now it’s one of the most exciting feelings! She never had sculpted nails so I convinced her to try it out, and she wanted them long with a coffin shape. The outcome was adorable and she said she loved the sculpted nails because she they felt more natural.

The next day, I was excited for one of my best friends to come in for a gel manicure! Her birthday was coming up so I was honored to beautify her nails! She has a very simple style so we just went for a baby blue but it turned out perfect, especially on her tiny hands. After her service she treated me to Taco Bell, and you guys already know how I love tacos, she’s a best friend indeed! I also completed a fill with cat eye gel-polish on one of my classmates. They were so cute!

We're now on the floor on Wednesdays, and another one of my great friends came in for a steamed pedicure and a full set. I told her about a steamed pedicure before so she wanted to see if it was any better than a regular pedicure. We both saw the difference in the outcome: her feet were so moisturized and smooth. She also wanted gel-polish on her toenails, which does help the polish last a lot longer than regular polish on the toes. For her full set we decided to use tips. I sculpted a set on her before but she's a server so the set didn't last. My timing was a lot better but I ran out of time to finish the nail art I was planning to do for Halloween. This friend will also be attending my school in the next few weeks, which is exciting.

On Thursday, our new “in-class” day, we had another test. After passing that, we had to complete a practical test for fantasy art. That was something I was struggling with because I had no inspiration to create a fantasy nail. One of my classmates asked me what inspires me on a daily basis and I said my kids. She suggested I used them as inspiration for my fantasy nails. At first I had no idea what do still but then it clicked. It was a definite ah-ha moment! My daughter, Teairra, loves art; so I created an isle with a canvas and a little paint holder with some color on it made out of colored acrylic. My middle son Jayzen loves professional wrestling so I created the WWE logo out of colored acrylic and painted "JZ" to honor my sons made-up wrestling name “The JayZ Man” on the bottom of the nail. Lastly, for my youngest son Kobe, I created LEGO nails made of colored acrylics. I also painted his name above the LEGO’s. He's very creative with his legos and builds anything from robots to computers to letters of the alphabet. Using my kids for inspiration was probably the best advice anyone could’ve given me and definitely got the job done.

This week I can say was one of the better weeks and I’m so grateful for that. Not every week is that easy but I’m glad that God blessed me. Every client I get is so easy going, genuine and sweet, it just makes what I’m doing that much easier to enjoy. We have 18 weeks marked off, we’re almost there! Keep spreading that love.
