Duri Cosmetics

Duri Cosmetics founder Faina Ritz (pictured) left Russia for the U.S. in 1978 with her teenage son, $2 in her pocket, and high aspirations. In 1989, she and her son started Duri Cosmetics by making a bet for $100 that Ritz could create a formulation for hair removal wax. She won. The formulation worked and the business started. The company has since added nail treatments, nail polish, and lip plumper to its line.
