Once again Allure has bestowed its “Best of Beauty” title upon many of your favorite professional nail products. Making the “Best of Beauty” Hall of Fame this year were two perennial picks: Essie polishes, celebrating eight years on the list, and OPI I’m Not Really a Waitress with six years.

As voted by Allure’s editors and readers, here are some standouts from its October 2005 picks:

Best Bright Polish: Essie Watermelon — “As juicy, ripe, and fresh as the fruit.”

Best Red Polish: Essie A-List — “This crimson is more sophisticated than showy.”

Best Nude Polish: OPI Samoan Sand — “Glossy peach undertones keep beige beautiful.”

Best Top Coat: Poshé — “We love the way [it] grabs our polish with just the right amount of glassy shine.”

Best Cuticle Cream: Essie The Cuticle Pen — “[It] turns this once-messy chore into an entirely addictive luxury.”
