Brights in the Dead of Winter

Why not try wearing bright colors in winter? Marie Claire's January 2013 issue asked the question after noticing a steady trend in the fashion world toward bold, spring-like colors.

"Using very colorful makeup is an expression of doing something purely for fun and pleasure," makeup artist Tom Pechuex told Marie Claire backstage at a Peter Som show.

The article calls these bright colors a glimmer of hope: "It's a much-needed reminder that eventually, all those pretty spring flowers will bloom again, even if we have to slog through in furry boots a bit longer."
