Parlez Vous Français?: Who Won and Who’s Packing Up Their Brushes

Congratulations to Lexi, who won this week’s French twist challenge. The judges loved your reinterpretation of a classic French look. Many of our judges commented on your color palette and the interesting shape you gave the traditional smile line. The fleur-de-lys look makes it feel even more French. This look is wearable and versatile. We can see it working in a variety of situations in many different color combinations. Your day-to-night interpretation (below) was also spot-on.

NAILS’ editor Hannah: This design is super cool. I love the color combo and the variation of the smile line is just different enough to be interesting while still retaining a traditional “French” feel. Awesome. I’d totally wear the “New French.“ Your day to night photo rocks too!

NAILS’ graphic designer Yuiko: Lexi’s design is a very bold and edgy take on the French manicure, and the monochromatic colors can be worn anytime anywhere. She did a great job turning a classic French tip into a more modern and original design!

NAILS’ production manager Carla: This French is perfectly stylish and wearable! Normally I wouldn’t think that so much stark white on the nail bed would work for night but when balanced against the exotic design of the gold and black tip, it dresses up nicely!
