Animated Short: Who Won and Who’s Packing Up Their Paintbrushes

Celina

Congratulations to Celina Ryden for winning the ninth challenge! Your Captain Save-a-Nail saved the day as well as your spot in the top.

Week9-winner

CND head judge Jan Arnold said, “Over-the-top presentation, ambitious storytelling, beautiful artistry, with music, mobility, and magic!”

NAILS associate editor Sigourney Nunez said, “Celina’s whimsical and festive take on the challenge made me smile — complete nostalgia!”

NAILS senior editor Beth Livesay said, “I loved the opening sequence! Lord knows writing your own Seuss rhyme and illustrating it is just as difficult as making a fantasy nail tip. The idea to place the tip on the car makes it shine that much brighter.”

NTNA season 2 winner Lavette Cephus said, “I enjoyed the story that you came up with and having it completely match your nail design! I love all of your movable elements in the design. Great job!”

Celina will receive a $500 gift certificate from INM.

Week9-packing

The nail tech who is packing up her paintbrushes this week is … Torie Bastian.

Torie’s bohemian aesthetic and artistic brilliance set her apart from the other competitors early on. Her designs are not only memorable, they are iconic. We hate to eliminate Torie, but we are at the point in the competition where the decisions are getting tougher and tougher.

Luckily, this won’t be the last you hear from Torie. She will move on to CND’s Last Chance Design Lab where she will have one last chance to stay in the competition. Check back Friday to see who will move on in our FINAL Last Chance battle — Victoria or Torie.

Tune in Monday to find out the last regular play challenge and vote for your favorites. Good luck to our 3 remaining competitors!
